Come to Maine in September! Enjoy the sights of the historic seaport of Portland, Casco Bay, and the delights of autumn in New England. Meet old friends and make new ones at the ACA’s National Synod. All are welcome to attend Synod events - opening reception, cocktail hour at the Portland Museum of Art, Synod banquet, and services at the historic Cathedral of St. Paul. Guests may attend the plenary session and educational seminars, and sit in on business meetings as observers. Vendor exhibits and information booths will be available for all attendees. Group sightseeing tours and other interesting adventures will also be part of the program. The Annual Synod of the Diocese of the Northeast will be held at the same location Friday and Saturday, September 23-24.

Accommodations:

The Synod is being held in downtown Portland at the classic Eastland Park Hotel.  Rooms at the hotel may be booked at a special group rate of $119 for single or double rooms. This rate will be available to ACA and DNE Synod attendees from September 16 through September 27. You will need to tell the reservations desk that you will be with the Anglican Church in America group. The cut-off date for booking your room is August 26. The discounted rate will not be guaranteed after that day.

Transportation:

Convenient travel is available through the Portland International Jetport, by AMTRAK, and express bus service. Portland is just a two-hour drive from Boston by interstate highway. For more information on air, bus, rail or road connections go to www.transportme.org or call 207-541-6195.
